These are the most recent sightings sent to us by members and the public.
If you would like to log a sighting of any flora or fauna in the Toodyay area, please click the link provided. Please enter your name for for us to verify your sighting,and contact details at the end of your notes, as we may need to get more details from you.
You do not have to be a member.
The following information would be useful, if at all possible.
1) time of day?
2) weather conditions?
3) landscape eg: road verge, scrubland, breakaway country, high or low in a tree, etc, ?
4) what the creature was doing at the time of the sighting?
5) approximate size?
6) gender (if possible)?
7) colouration?
8) photographed?
9) any other interesting observation/s at the time of sighting?
10) for plants, the surrounding growth, number of plants and their general condition, is it a wetland?

Please try and limit the number of characters you enter to 100. A photograph will be a great advantage in identification of those hard to categorise animals or plants

2744 08-10-1990 West Toodyay Bee-eater, Rainbow First sighting for year. Max Howard. Always arrives Dowerin area between 9 and 11 October, this year arrived 15th; Robert Boase. Seabrook area - usually arrives 10th October each year; not sighted this year; Lindsay Milhinch
2745 14-02-1991 Woodendale Farm, Toodyay Bee-eater, Rainbow Sighted. Not seen in mid-September 1990 when it would normally be seen, and has been regularly for 20 years. By Dawn Atwell

2750 10-01-2019 Majestic Heights Bee-eater, Rainbow Three or four birds heard. Number of sightings this year is way down. Many other birdos not seeing them either

2754 16-02-2019 Clinton Street near Old Gaol Bee-eater, Rainbow A number of birds heard
2755 15-02-2019 Duke Street Bee-eater, Rainbow Near old gaol. Quite a number heard and seen.

2759 06-03-2019 Mt Anderson and along river Bee-eater, Rainbow 6-7 March - although couldn't see the birds, air noisy with a lot of calling in trees, particularly along the river banks on either side of school footbridge. Sounded as if they were gathering for flight north.
