These are the most recent sightings sent to us by members and the public.
If you would like to log a sighting of any flora or fauna in the Toodyay area, please click the link provided. Please enter your name for for us to verify your sighting,and contact details at the end of your notes, as we may need to get more details from you.
You do not have to be a member.
The following information would be useful, if at all possible.
1) time of day?
2) weather conditions?
3) landscape eg: road verge, scrubland, breakaway country, high or low in a tree, etc, ?
4) what the creature was doing at the time of the sighting?
5) approximate size?
6) gender (if possible)?
7) colouration?
8) photographed?
9) any other interesting observation/s at the time of sighting?
10) for plants, the surrounding growth, number of plants and their general condition, is it a wetland?

Please try and limit the number of characters you enter to 100. A photograph will be a great advantage in identification of those hard to categorise animals or plants

2641 06-08-1990 Toodyay Event Avon Descent Boat Race. Mountain ducks and water birds in general. Much comment on this year's race re disturbance to waterfowl. Clutches of eight and ten chicks disappeared altogether after race. Another clutch of eight chicks was reduced to two. By Jim Masters

2647 12-07-1990 York area Triller, White-winged One male in ellipse plumage flushed from paddock. About third time sighted in winter since 19? By Jim Masters
2648 16-06-1990 Seabrook, via Northam Fox, Red One on back verandah at Seabrook homestead. Sighted at 0900, then ran away, to return 30 minutes later. By Lindsay Milhinch.
2649 12-06-1990 Toodyay-Red Hill Road Marri (Eucalyptus marginata) Significant number of trees in heavy bloom. By Max Howard
2650 09-06-1990 Glen Avon, Toodyay-Northam Road Heron, White-faced Seventy-three on dams at Glen Avon. They commenced congregating in May and reached a peak of 73 in first week of June. Within a week most had dispersed. By Jim Masters
2651 03-06-1990 West Coondle Reserve Thornbill, Yellow-rumped A pair building a nest about a month early. Deserted before completion. By Max Howard
2652 03-06-1990 Seabrook, via Northam Curlew, Little One bird around homestead at Seabrook. Seemed to have damaged wing. By Lindsay Milhinch
2653 15-05-1990 Glen Avon, Toodyay-Northam Road Bustard, Australian Single bird on Glen Avon. First sighting for 30 years. Bad locust plague in the district at this time and this may have caused the bird to venture this far south. Also report of five birds at Gingin. By Jim Masters
2654 15-05-1990 Coondle West Road Cockatoo, White-tailed (Carnaby's) First sighting for four and a half months. By Dorothy Harwood
2655 14-05-1990 Dowerin-Goomalling Road, Goomalling Bustard, Australian One bird sighted 8km from Goomalling. First sighting for many years. By Beryl Boase
