Raptor |
Not sure what it was. Initially thought it was a sparrow hawk but couldn’t see any striping or collar. Maybe a brown falcon? Sat quietly in several different trees. Little birds nearby making a frantic racket. It left when I tried to get a bit closer. |

Cyclamen persiaum |
The natural range of Cyclamen persicum extends from North Africa across West Asia to Southeast Europe. In particular, the following occurrences are documented: In North Africa, the species is represented in the northern and eastern parts of Algeria and in northern Tunisia. In Western Asia, stocks were confirmed in Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, western Syria and western Turkey. In the eastern part of Greece, the only deposits in Europe could be occupied.
Unusual weather conditions have prompted this garden plant to flower in December 2019 - out of season. |

Burrowing frog?? |
Our dogs were harrassing this lovely frog which has decided to live in the dry stack coffee rock wall below our house. It lives in a mix of local soil, gravel and yellow sand under the rocks.
I gave it a rinse off to check they hadn't bitten it (no, thank goodness) and then put it under one of the plants in the wall. Immediately burrowed back down into the sand. |
